Here are six easy ways to improve your gut health!

Posted by Bobby Brown on October 28, 2023 - 8:32pm

1. Eat more whole foods. We all know whole foods are important, but which ones will have the biggest impact on gut health? Organic vegetables, whole grains, tree nuts, beans, legumes, and fruit are great places to start. These are all loaded with fiber and are great sources of nutrition for your gut bacteria.
2. Clean your teeth. The link between oral care and your microbiome might feel like a stretch, but studies have shown that bacteria from your mouth can get in your stomach and cause problems. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups can help keep this bacteria in check, along with limiting sugary foods (which we all know are bad for the teeth, and as well as the gut).
3. Eat fermented foods. This is a great way to increase good bacteria the tasty and natural way. Consider foods like sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi, kombucha, tempeh, and natural low-sugar yogurt.
4. Eat and drink more polyphenols. Foods rich in polyphenols have anti-inflammatory properties, decrease blood pressure, and help decrease cellular stress. Some good examples are dark chocolate, red grapes and red wine, green tea, almonds, onions, blueberries, and broccoli.
5. Spice things up with garlic, turmeric, and ginger. These spices help rid your gut of harmful bacteria and are mighty tasty!
6. Limit artificial sweeteners. Animal and human studies have shown the negative effects of artificial sweeteners on the microbiome. Aspartame has proven to be particularly harmful by increasing blood sugar.

One bonus tip that might be the simplest way to improve gut health is by using Gutbiome6 before eating or up to three times a day.Gutbiome6 helps strengthen the tight junctions in your gut and helps combat environmental toxins, such as glyphosate, from penetrating your blood-brain barrier.
