Is Health Insurance Stopping You from Starting Your Business?

Posted by Bobby Brown on December 18, 2023 - 4:29pm

Start a small business and get great health benefits. Are you ready to quit your nine to five job and launch your own small business? Maybe it's  an idea you came up with during the COVID lockdown. Or maybe it's an idea you've had for years and it's finally time you've been making plans, setting up your website, getting everything ready to launch and you're almost ready to leave your everyday gig and go out on your own. But then you have to worry about health insurance. My name is Grace Godzeel and I want to welcome you back to the health benefits network where we're talking all things health and benefits and how to make the most of the money that you spend on those important items. I talk with a lot of people who find themselves at this tipping point of launching their own small business or becoming a solopreneur. They have a great idea for a business or something they're really passionate about.

But they're held back from doing something about it because their health benefits are tied to their employer. You know exactly who you are if this sounds like you, even if you've saved up so much so that you can kickstart your new company until you turn a profit. The concept of losing your health benefits or having to pay the high cost yourself can be incredibly daunting. Fortunately, there are solutions out there that are more cost-effective, flexible, and much better suited to entrepreneurial people. Just like you. The one I want to talk about today is called Health Sharing . Once you learn the ins and outs, there are many reasons why people prefer it to traditional insurance, so let's get into a few now one cost savings. HealthSharing  plans often have lower monthly payment amounts compared to traditional health insurance plans, which can be beneficial for small business owners who are working on a tight budget and need to make the most of their dollar. On average. I see a 30 to 50 percent savings when compared to regular health insurance.

Two.
Focus on preventative medicine and healthy living. Medical costuming plans often focus on preventative care, wellness programs and healthy lifestyle choices, which can lead to you staying healthy and avoiding more costly medical expenses down the road. For someone owning their own small business, your health is one of your most important assets, and having a health solution that prioritizes your well-being will align incredibly well with your success.

Three.

No network restrictions and this is a big one. Many medical costuming organizations do not have network restrictions, meaning that you're able to seek out the healthcare that you need from the providers that you want. This could be providers within your own city or even elsewhere if you're traveling for work or taking some time off. Network restrictions are a headache I hear about constantly in the health insurance world, not to mention the surprise bills. When a provider is out of network in the medical costuming space, that is a thing of the past. While medical costuming memberships might not be the best fit for everyone, they can be a great solution and certainly something that every future small business owner should definitely consider. Having previously been a solopreneur as well as a small business owner myself. I love nothing more than to see someone take their ambition and be able to launch their own business for them and their family.

Right up here where I talk more in depth about medical costuming and how well it worked for me even in a time where I needed some expensive medical care. And second, I'll be sure to le
