The pre, the pro, and the postbiotics.

Posted by Bobby Brown on October 28, 2023 - 5:47pm

As you are probably aware, probiotics are good gut buddies of bacteria and yeast. Prebiotics are the food for said gut buddies, and postbiotics are what's left over after the prebiotics are digested by the probiotics. We know, this is a somewhat vague and high-level explanation of the term, but this scientific puzzle is still emerging with new information.

Researchers are currently exploring postbiotics and their relationship to the immune system, intestinal barrier integrity, inflammation, blood sugar regulation, allergies, digestive illnesses, chronic diseases, and obesity.

Basically, postbiotics' potential might make waves as "the next big thing" when it comes to maintaining gut health, but you're probably already producing postbiotics right now, if, for instance, you are consuming nutrient-rich foods with prebiotics and probiotics.

If maintaining a strong intestinal barrier, improved immune function, mood, metabolism, and digestion is important to you, also consider Gutbiome6 Gut Support, which harnesses the potential of ancient postbiotics (aka, bacterial metabolites).
