Your Like A Table: Stand Sturdy

Posted by Bobby Brown on January 23, 2025 - 5:21pm

Riddle “What has legs but cannot run?” You might guess different creatures or objects, but the answer is actually quite simple—it’s a table. A table stands on its sturdy legs, offering support and space for all kinds of activities, yet it remains stationary. It doesn’t sprint, gallop, or dash about; it just faithfully serves wherever it’s placed.

Now, you might ask, “How does something this ordinary become meaningful to our Godly, everyday journey?” Well, a table can teach us a few lessons. First, it reminds us that being steady is sometimes more important than constantly rushing around. In our fast-paced world, we can feel pressured to hustle nonstop, believing that more movement equals more success.

However, just like a table stands firm and fulfills its purpose without moving an inch, we too can stand steadfast in our faith - focusing on excellence, kindness, rather than simply chasing quick results. Sometimes, Be stable pillars in our families and communities, providing a space where
others can come, rest, and be fed—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Second, a table supports and uplifts whatever is placed on it, reminding us that part of our mission is to uplift others. This repeatedly tells us to encourage one another, to share the burdens of the weary, and to be sources of comfort for those who need it. A table doesn’t discriminate or become weary; it consistently holds what’s handed to it. We, too, should strive to serve with love and impartiality—offering a “seat at the table” for everyone we encounter.

So, even though this riddle seems short and sweet, it holds a lovely reminder: we don’t need to “run” everywhere in life to be effective.
Just like a table, staying grounded in our purpose——is enough to make a world of difference. Keep shining
and keep standing firm in your calling
