Your micro ecosystem mimics your macro environment.

Posted by Bobby Brown on October 29, 2023 - 4:05pm

During times like these, staying indoors can take a toll on your gut environment. As we have less and less contact with the natural world, we develop a monoculture in our own ecosystem, leaving us vulnerable to health injuries.

Low diversity in the gut is heavily associated with a higher risk of inflammation and disease. The more species that reside in your microbiome, the healthier you are overall.

One of the easiest ways to naturally increase your microbial diversity is by going outside. Being outside gives you exposure to all sorts of microbes that can benefit your microbiome. When you expose yourself to millions of microbes, many of which can benefit your body and microbiome, you are engaging with the intelligence of nature.
