Man Lives between two Thieves

Man Lives Between Two Thieves

Hello there and welcome back to Six Minutes. Here’s a great Six Minute lesson that as I keep saying will give you Results that Stick.

Do you know there are two thieves in your life? Two of them. It has to do with the past and it has to do with the future. Do you know some people are plagued with things that happened in the past? You can’t do anything about what happened in the past, and if there were negative things and you’re going to let them bother you, you’re going to come up with one of two emotions or maybe both of them resentment and guilt. I once heard a person say that resentment is like taking poison and hoping the other person dies. It’s a dumb game; you’re filling your mind with bad thoughts while they may be out having a good time. What they did may have been wrong they may have hurt you but you’ve got to let it go. Resentment is no good.

Or you may have done something yourself in the past that you’re not too proud or your sort of sorry for yet you might feel guilty about it. They are inappropriate emotions you’ve got to let them go. Letting the past live in your mind robs you of life. Try and change the time you get out of bed this morning. Try and change what you had for lunch yesterday. These are simple examples but they paint a very clear picture in your mind. You know that you can’t do that you cannot go back and change anything. I think I mentioned earlier all we’ve got is the present. And the present is like word processing without a memory. It’s only good right now. You can’t bring it out and benefit from it tonight or tomorrow. You can’t do it. All you’ve got is now.

And then worrying about the future…most of the things we worry about never even happens. Studies research into this. Most of the things we worry about happening never happen, and if we are contemplating something down the road that is not going to be too pleasant if that’s what’s filling our mind, what kind of a vibration are we in now? We don’t feel good; we’re attracting bad stuff. We’re messing up our day. We’re using our imagination in a negative manner. Now imagination is the most powerful miraculous individual power that anybody’s ever known.

Hill said it’s the most marvelous, miraculous, individual mental faculty that we’ve got. It deals with the “might be” element in life. It’s a wonderful tool but it’s a terrible one when we use it against ourself. Quit living in the future live in the present. And understand if you do that and you do a real good job, you’re going to have a beautiful future. Things are just going to keep getting better. Better’s a nice word, doesn’t matter how good it is, it can get better. And that’s how to make it better. Be here now. If somebody asks you where you are, you can say “here.” It doesn’t matter where you are; I’m “here.” They say what time is it? It’s “now.” Play with that, think about that. And understand that the present is all you’ve got. You focus on that you can turn it into habit and you’re going to have Results that Stick.

This is Bob Proctor, thank you.
