Procrastination
I’m back with another idea for Six Minutes. You’re going to love this.
You’ve had some real good ideas over the past, weeks, and months. How many of them are you putting off? I’m going to start doing that. I’ll start next week. I’ll start tomorrow. I’ll start next month. Do you know that procrastination is one of the worst psychic diseases that man has been, I don’t know, cursed with? And it is sort of a curse because it stops you from winning from realizing the great joys of life. I have people in seminars frequently say how do you overcome procrastination? I’m just so sick of putting stuff off. You overcome it by making a decision. That’s right. You see, decision is the opposite side of procrastination. Like right and left, up and down, hot and cold, procrastinate, decide. If you make up your mind you’re going to become very decisive you will stop procrastinating and when you get an idea do it now, make it happen now.
I quoted a mentor of mine that has since passed on but he was a dear friend and I loved him dearly and I miss him. Leland Val Vanderwall, he said, “Doing at once what needs to be done increases the possibility of success.” Now do you know if you talk to anybody in my company you’re going to realize that Proctor wants everything done yesterday, he wants it done now. That’s just the way he works. And I operate that way in the Proctor Gallagher Institute and that is why we are in today operating in about 94 countries. It’s not an accident. Companies don’t grow and do great work by accident,
I’m not that much smarter than anybody. I’m not that much more brilliant than anyone else, but I’m very decisive. Do it. I’m not too concerned what somebody else thinks. What have you been putting off? It might just be cleaning up the house today or cleaning the garage or washing the car. It could seem like a little thing but every time you procrastinate it’s not the size of the thing your procrastinating about it’s that you’re giving energy to a bad habit. And that habits going to grow and it will strangle your success. It will abort all good things that can happen to you. Make up your mind right now that you’re going to become decisive and you’re going to stop procrastinating, you’re going to put it work and you’re going to put it to work today. You’re going to like yourself so much.
And I guarantee you’ll continually come up with Results that Stick.
This is Bob Proctor and thank you.
