Hey hey everyone,
Been a while since I posted here on my blog and just wanted to touch basis on fishing with the family or friends today. Since summer here in the north has been very rainy and cool this year it has made for some very good fishing in the area and around the province.
We plan and go on at least one fishing trip yearly outside our local watershed, this year was no exception. As we planned our trip before the cov-19 hit and had to accept the cancellation of our first-ever ocean trip with myself and my son and of course my grandson. We planned on leaving on a Friday but left a day early as we had a charter set up for Saturday. So after driving until 2 am we finally arrived in Kitimat BC and sleeping in the truck full of gear ( how uncomfortable but worth it )
We woke up around 6 am and headed to the river and as we pulled up we watched 2 salmon being pulled in and could not wait to get our lines in the water. I had just walked out into the water and the phone rings and it is the charter guy asking where we are as we have a charter Friday morning.
I proceeded to tell the captain our charter was for the next day he says he has someone else on Saturday and I proceeded to say okay we are on our way and be there in 10 minutes or so.
This here is the gang out on this trip.
We left the marina at approx 8 am and sailed out about 50km to the fishing grounds. There were a few others fishing the area but no one was catching anything.
When we first arrived at the fishing grounds we put out our crab pots and began to find the fish. It did not take too long before we were pulling in our first of four salmon and it was awesome really. 2 pinks and 2 cohos was it for our ocean fishing.
Well after a long 6 hours out on the ocean fishing we headed back to the local fishing hole where we have fished many times and fishing this day was so awesome we limited out within an hour and had 20 fish to take home after 3 days and never had I had to stop because I was tired of catching fish. Is was a very awesome trip.
