Most people have a rough feeling about this. They know they should probably look at it. They know roughly what they earn and roughly what they owe, and somewhere underneath that is a question they have never actually answered: if the income stopped tomorrow, what would be left, and for how long?
That is not a hard question. It is three numbers and about five minutes. The reason almost nobody has done it is not that the arithmetic is difficult — it is that writing it down makes it real, and a vague worry is easier to carry than a specific one.
I am Pete Ade. I work in life insurance and financial literacy, and most of what I actually do is this: sit with somebody while they fill in three lines. So I put the three lines on one page and I am giving it away.
One. What the household loses in income if you die, get sick, or get hurt tomorrow.
Two. What debt would still be sitting there, with nobody earning to pay it.
Three. What, if anything, is actually in place today to cover the difference.
You fill it in yourself. It does no arithmetic for you and it recommends nothing — it just puts the number where you can see it.
Usually it is the first time anyone has seen the gap in black and white. That is the whole point of the exercise, and it is also where most people stop needing to be convinced of anything — because once you see the number, you cannot unsee it.
Sign up below and it is yours. This creates a free MarketHive account with me as your sponsor — that is how this platform delivers it, and it is how anything else I send reaches you. No card, no cost.
Nobody is going to call you about this. If you want a conversation afterwards you can ask for one, and if you do not, the worksheet is still yours.
The worksheet is for households. The group is for both — because the other half of what I do is mentoring licensed agents on the parts of this business that build a practice rather than a month: advanced underwriting, client retention, and how to stop starting from zero every thirty days. Different conversation, same room.
