Moving to Cloudlandia

Posted by Bill Bateman on July 10, 2020 - 1:26am

Once upon the time there was an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. "Such bad luck," they said sympathetically.

"Perhaps," the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. "What great luck!" the neighbors exclaimed.

"Perhaps," replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

"Perhaps," answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son’s leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

"Perhaps," said the farmer...

I borrowed that from parable from somebody - you can find it by searching "The Farmer's Fortune". The point is your attitude. The farmer was always what my dad would call "cautiously optimistic".

Joe Polish - Dean Jackson - Brian Kurtz and Jay Abraham are all top notch "marketing guys". Collectively they've helped tens of thousands of businesses. I was listening to a recent videp/podcast they collaborated titled...

How To Navigate Economic Crisis and Capture Opportunities

One of the many "aha" moments I heard was Joe Polish talking about "virtual restaurants" that are delivery only. Joe said something to affect that since this COVID scare/pandemic/hoax (however you characterize it) we've changed the way the world does business in the blink of any eye we are moving our businesses to "Cloudlandia"...

Businesses have needed an online presence and all of the tools to exploit it for a decade or more but many didn't invest the time, money, resources or committment it takes to build those websites, blogs, auto-responders, etc.

Is that a bad thing?

As the Farmer said...

Perhaps

5 years ago a small business anywhere in the world would have spent a lot of money to have the tools needed to run an online presence. But today, Markethive gives to the world for free!
