Board your motorcoach for a scenic drive through Belfast. As the capital city of Northern Ireland, Belfast boasts a rich, elegant and varied past.
Pass the historic Grand Opera House, the towering Albert Memorial Clock and the majestic Queen's University before continuing past the Botanic Gardens.
Proceed to Belfast City Hall, an impressive Renaissance-style structure built in an ancient white limestone.
Make a brief photo stop at the Titanic Memorial Gardens at City Hall to view a monument commemorating the lives lost on the ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic. This magnificent sculpture, erected in 1920, features a female personification of Fate holding a laurel wreath over 2 mermaids raising a sailor out of the water.
Continue your journey outside the city to see Stormont, seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Then head up to Cave Hill Country Park for spectacular panoramic views of the city.
Next, proceed to the lower slopes to see the Belfast Castle. Known as one of city's most outstanding and historically significant buildings, the castle is home to beautiful gardens and an adjoining country park, as well as the rock known as Mac Art's Fort, which marks the site of where the Society of United Irishmen planned the Rebellion of 1795.
After a fun and informative day exploring the city, make the return drive back to the ship.
