Are You Looking For Validation

Posted by Bobby Brown on March 07, 2025 - 5:15pm

We all want validation. But what if the truths that challenge us are more important than the ones that comfort us?

There’s something addictive about seeing likes roll in. The tiny dopamine rush. The illusion of validation. That brief moment where it feels like what we say matters - because someone clicked a button.

But is that really where our value lies?

I’ve seen how easy it is to chase likes over truth, agreement over conversation. To say what people want to hear, not what they need to hear. But when we only surround ourselves with voices that echo our own, we don’t grow - we stagnate.

Real growth isn’t in agreement. It’s in challenge.

The biggest shift in my life didn’t come from comfort. It came from a moment that hit me like a gut punch:

"Do you want to live in a nursing home playing computer games for the rest of your life?"

It wasn’t an insult. It wasn’t a lecture. It was a moment of raw truth. And it shattered me.

It didn’t break me - it woke me up.

For years, anxiety and isolation had me trapped. But in that moment, something cracked open. My soul trembled. My mind snapped out of autopilot. And for the first time in a long time, I saw myself.

It didn’t make everything easy. But from that second onward, things started to change.

And that’s the thing about truth - it’s uncomfortable. It stings. It resists the easy path. But the truths we resist the most? They’re the ones that set us free.

We will never fully know the impact we have. That care worker likely forgot that conversation years ago. But for me? It changed everything.

And maybe, just maybe - your words could do the same for someone else. Are You Ready For A Change
