A Turf-and-Surf Adventure
Explore the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness—from dense woods to shimmering water.
On this adventure you will…
- Head off the ship and travel via motorcoach to the village of Hoonah, the largest Tlingit village in the world.
- Start your guided trek through privately owned land, hiking up an abandoned logging trail to a secluded viewing area. Your guide will share information about the flora and fauna in the area, along with history of the Native Alaskans and their rich diverse culture. Your reward at the top of the mountain is a breathtaking 360-degree view of Chichagof Island.
- Reboard your motorcoach and return to Icy Strait Point for a fun-filled kayak adventure.
- Be outfitted in a single kayak and paddle across the sparkling water of Port Frederick to Pitt Island. Search for humpback whales, seals, sea lions and other marine life around Hoonah.
- Learn about Tlingit culture and the history of Hoonah from your safety-certified guide as you explore.
- Return to the ship.
