What we have total control over is the internal things…
We get to choose our desires, passions and thoughts. We shape our liking to other people. And we mold the inner world of our mind and reconcile it to the external things. Or as my friend W Mitchell so eloquently says, It’s not what happens to you, it’s how you choose to respond to it.
Yet the shibumi, tranquility, and dignity they choose to respond to it all was inspiring. (It actually led me to record the next Prosperity TV from there, on this very subject.) There are a lot of prosperity lessons for us in all this.
You can’t avoid the turbulence of the world, but you can overcome the riots of mind. The duties, obligations and challenges of life may claim your attention, however you can rise above the apprehensions and anxieties of them. You can be surrounded by noise, yet know abiding peace.
That’s the real work of prosperity. It’s not about earning money, finishing projects, or acquiring things. It’s about rising above the turmoil and becoming your true nature – becoming prosperity.
