The immune system acts like a warrior that guards your body against disease and infection. However, as age is catching up, your immune system ages with you too, and they may have lesser in amount and react slower than it used to. Colostrum6 contains colostrum with a whopping 30% of Immunoglobulin G (IgG), being one of the highest contents in the market. Those with the weaker immune system, such as the elderly, individuals that undergone antibiotic treatment, or those who are having stressful lifestyles, can benefit from taking colostrum to boost their immunity and prevent infections.
Colostrum, also known as first milk, usually in the first few days after giving birth. It has higher concentration of protein, antibodies, fats and growth factors.
Similar to human colostrum, where it is rich in variety of biologically active components such as antimicrobial peptides, immunoglobulin (antibodies) and various growth factors.
Based on a study, adult and elderly between age 30 to 80 years old who took colostrum supplementation for 8 weeks, the number of days with flu was 3 times shorter compared to those not taking it (Figure 1). 3 Also, colostrum is 4 times more effective in preventing flu compared to the anti-flu vaccine (Figure 2). 3
