EXPERIENCE MONASTIC AND VILLAGE LIFE

Posted by Bobby Brown on February 06, 2020 - 6:52pm

EXPERIENCE MONASTIC AND VILLAGE LIFE

Experience Hong Kong’s Buddhist heritage at Chuk Lam Sim Yuen monastery, then visit a walled village and a market. Travel by coach to Chuk Lam Sim Yuen monastery and admire its exquisite traditional Chinese architecture, its serene bamboo grove setting and one of the largest Buddha statues in Hong Kong. Discover the entrance to the walled village of Lo Wai, an ancient ancestral village of the Tang clan whose ancestors branched out from Kam Tin in the 13th century. Visit Tang Chung Ling, the main ancestral hall of the Tang clan and one of the largest of its kind in Hong Kong. Immerse yourself in an authentic Asian market experience at Tai Po Market, an outdoor “wet” market selling fresh seafood, poultry, fruits and vegetables. Please note that a reasonable level of fitness is required: this tour includes approximately 500 yards of walking over both flat and uneven surfaces, as well as some steps.
