HUMAN OPTIMIZATION

Posted by Bobby Brown on May 25, 2023 - 2:01pm

Too many of us are so hyperfocused on the results/destination that we completely forget to enjoy the journey.

People don't realize that the journey is the best part because it is all of our trials, mistakes, hard work, relationships, and fun times that make us into a person ready and deserving of the blessings we desire.

If we think about life as a videogame we wouldn't want to just start at the end with all of our powerups and no story to play because that defeats the purpose and takes all the fun out of the game.

The same can be said about having a life with no challenges and everything given to you. It may look fun from the outside but that person could be miserable and beyond bored since they're life has no real challenges.

Going through challenges and coming out on the other side is what success is all about. It shows people what they're truly capable of when they test themselves and push themselves to their limits.

Human optimization and self-improvement is a journey with no destination.

They are day to day battles with ourselves to make ourselves just a little bit better than we were the day before.

Sometimes we will win and sometimes we will lose, but the goal is to begin to make the wins far outweigh the losses.

Human optimization and self-improvement are not about striving to be some perfect ideal that we have in our heads but instead merely striving to do our best day in and day out.

As we approach life this way then our best begins to get better and better until we eventually become capable of things we could never imagine.

We should have goals along the way but these goals can't get mistaken for the destination because then we become complacent and slip into our old bad habits.

We must find that perfect balance of being grateful for everything we currently have while always striving to be more.

This is because if we truly love ourselves we should always want what's best for us which requires constant steady improvement.

So before any decision you make today, I want you to ask yourself this simple question:

"If I truly loved myself would I choose to do this?"
