It's only natural to grow a little envious when we see other people getting results. Everything they touch works out well, good people come into their teams and they always appear to be winning.
Some may call them 'lucky'- but what really is luck?
“Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation, while bad luck is when lack of preparation meets reality" - Elijahu Goldratt
“I've found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often.” - Brian Tracy
"Chance favors the prepared mind" - Louis Pasteur
"Luck is tenacity of purpose" - – Ralph Waldo Emerson
"It's hard to detect good luck - it looks so much like something you've earned" - Franck A. Clark
Whether you think the world conspires against, or works WITH you - you're right. Nobody is ever surprised by their own success. It doesn't creep upon us at night, nor happen to us uninvited. There are Laws in this life, as sure as gravity. Success is the direct, unapologetic result of living with Purpose.
The distant observes may call it luck, but to the knowing, each person makes their own luck. It comes from a well of optimism inside, the constant nourishment of a dream- that fuels us to push harder, stretch farther, try harder.
And then luck appears. Your fortune falls into place and it may surprise everyone but you- because you dreamed it, believed in and worked for it. And so, inevitably, it comes to pass.
I'm sorry but there are no shortcuts. If you want to get lucky, get busy. As we lead into the Las Vegas annual Conference, we are proud of the thousands of associates who are on their way from around the world, ready to 'get lucky'. Roll the dice and bet on yourself.
