OUR HEALTH IS OUR GREATEST BLESSING

We must prioritize our health above all else because our health is the core foundation in which we build our lives upon.

Our health is what gives us vitality and the energy required to accomplish the rest of our goals.

When we are not in good health it makes everything in life more difficult.

Just remember the last time you were feeling under the weather and how much more challenging it made even the simplest tasks.

Now just think about the fact that the majority of us are operating "under the weather" on a daily basis because we are not actively trying to optimize our health.

When we optimize our health we optimize our entire lives because we begin to look, feel, and function better.

We all tend to have better days when we're feeling great and have high energy levels.

Well, when we prioritize our health we begin to make the days the norm as opposed to an outlier.

This means that our "best" days currently are nowhere close to what our actual "best" days could be.

Prioritizing health has its own set of challenges because proper health isn't just some fad diet or working out hard for a couple weeks, it's an entire lifestyle change.

This change requires hard work and discipline but the benefits are truly endless.

When I say prioritize our health I am not just speaking of our physical health.

I am referring to a holistic approach to health which includes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual (if you believe in a spirit, which I personally do).

This means we must be aware and accountable for what we put in and on our bodies, the content we consume, the quality of our relationships, and the habits we choose to develop since all of these factors contribute to our overall health and well-being.

The basics for optimizing our health include:

1. Exercise

2. Proper nutrition (this is different for everyone but a good rule of thumb for most is to avoid sugar & processed foods)

3. Adequate sleep (7-9 hours)

4. Mindfulness practice (meditate, yoga, tai chi, breathing exercises etc.)

5. Vitamins & supplements (multivitamin, vitamin D, fish oil are three things nearly everyone should take)

STARTING TODAY CHOOSE TO MAKE YOUR HEALTH A PRIORITY!!!
