Start a healthy life style can be overwhelming sometimes with so much information out there. And, instead of starting to walk our healthy journey, we’re so confused that we never start . Have you felt like that? It happened to me until I started with the basics and I understood very well the benefits of creating habits. These are the 5 habits that helped me to get started without being too much complicated.
Eat a lot of veggies, you have heard it before, but really put this in your mind. If we eat more nutrition little by little all the stuff that you crave can start to going away. Always fill your plate with veggies.
Drink a lot of water, is what my mom told me since I was little and never paid attention . But, it wasn’t until I understand the importance of being hydrated that I started forming this habit. Basic rule: drink half of your weight in ounces as minimum a day.
Move your body, you don’t need to be in the gym all the time or like running. The point is move your body any way you can during the day. You can start walking, going up your stairs a few times, walk your dog, find what you like and do it. Your lymphatic system needs movement.
Manage your stress levels, stress is a natural reaction in our bodies. But, when we don’t stop the cicle and we keep worry about stuff, our bodies stay in an alert mode that produces high levels of cortisol and adrenaline that could affect our organs and the correct function of our bodies. Meditation and grounding are great ways to manage stress.
Sleep like a baby, you can be working really hard in the 4 habits I already mentioned, but if you’re not having a quality sleep nothing would work or it could be really difficult for your body to recover and rejuvenate. Days ago, I put a post about sleep, if you think you need help in this area shoot me a message and I can give you some tips, so you can start sleeping well. It’s not the quantity, but the quality that matters!
And, remember that being the best version of yourself is not about perfection, but progress
