You’ve survived the unimaginable — cancer. Your journey and success should be celebrated. National Cancer Survivors Day happens every June. This day celebrates you and those who supported you. It’s also a good time to look at what you’re doing to stay healthy.
As a survivor, you may still face day-to-day challenges. Here are ways to take care of yourself:
Exercising after you are diagnosed has been linked to living longer. It also could lower the chances of certain types of cancer returning. Be sure to eat lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid processed and fried foods.
This is helpful so that you know when your follow-up appointments are. You’ve been through a lot, so you may be dealing with difficult emotions. Take the time to focus on you and maybe join a local support group.
