Maintaining healthy muscle mass is crucial to our health, and it plays a role in so many physiological processes, with just some being bone health, heart health, psychological support, metabolism, and it is preventative to illness and disease. Muscle maintenance and even growth should be an important goal for anyone with a heartbeat!

When you eat protein, your body breaks it down into individual amino acids to digest it. Many foods do not contain all nine of the essential amino acids, or in sufficient amounts. The key is to get the right balance of essential amino acids for optimal muscle recovery and growth. Over the course of the 24 clinical studies and decades of research that led to the formulation of MyoHealth, many different formulations were studied on various types of human subjects. When the ideal ratio of essential amino acids found in MyoHealth was discovered, it was realized that this ratio was effective for helping many types of individuals maintain and grow muscle, including older adults, younger adults, athletes, people on extended bed rest, and others.

It was also discovered that just a small dose of this ideal essential amino acid formula could stimulate muscle protein synthesis for up to 24 hours. This was an important discovery in these clinical trials because our bodies are in a constant state of protein breakdown and synthesis. When we have a sufficient amount of essential amino acids in our system in the right balance, this puts our muscles in a state of anabolism as opposed to catabolism, which means we are maintaining and building muscle and that is great news for your body!!
