
The Mohammed VI Center for the Dialogue of Civilizations , better known as the Mosque , is a cultural center located on Villa Dominante hill in the city of Coquimbo, Chile . The minaret of this mosque is a scale replica of the Kutubia Mosque in Marrakech, Morocco .
Its construction began in 2004 with the help of artisans and builders from the Arab world , led by the Moroccan architect Faissal Cherradi. The mosque was inaugurated on March 14, 2007 with the presence of the mayor of Coquimbo, Oscar Pereira, and a delegation of Moroccan authorities.
