There's nothing fun about feeling stressed

Posted by Bobby Brown on December 30, 2019 - 4:24pm

There’s nothing fun about feeling stressed, especially when it seems to come out of nowhere: your job, your commute, a misunderstanding that snowballs. Breathing exercises, yoga and mindfulness can help manage signs of stress, but these herbs and ingredients can lend a helping hand, too.

ASHWAGANDHA.

Take a deep breath and say “aaaaashwagandha.” Feels better already, right? Ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogenic herb used for centuries in traditional medicine.

TRYPTOPHAN.

You’ve probably heard that the tryptophan in turkey is responsible for your post-Thanksgiving-dinner sleepiness. There may be some truth to that. L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid that supports healthy sleep, something you may be short on when you’re stressed out.

L-THEANINE.

L-theanine is a beneficial amino acid derived from green tea and has been used since ancient times for its calming and relaxing benefits. It helps promote a sense of relaxation to cope with stress from everyday overwork and fatigue.

The best way to stress less is to be prepared, whether it’s carrying your stress ball with you or finding ways to incorporate more herbs and ingredients like these into your diet. Now relax and find your happy place.
