Nice on Your Own — Uncover the charms of Nice, one of the French Riviera’s most romantic cities, at your leisure. Enjoy a drive along the panoramic Middle Corniche, arriving in this picturesque Mediterranean city in about 45 minutes. Your driver will deliver you to the seaside Promenade des Anglais, and meet you back here three hours hence. Stroll the promenade, a splendid palm-lined boulevard stretching three miles along the Baie des Anges, or Bay of Angels. Later, walk a few blocks from the bay into Vieux Nice, the Old Town. Its centerpiece is the charming Cours Saleya, the Riviera’s largest flower market immortalized in Matisse’s Festival of Flowers, open every day except Monday, when a flea market unfolds here; it also closes Sunday afternoon.
