Too many of us are doing this quote backward, where we're doing what we hate and none of what we love!
We're stuck at a job we hate, in relationships with people we don't like, and frankly just living a life we don't want to live.
This is robbing us of our life energy because when we're constantly devoting hours on end to things we don't like, we drain ourselves to the point, that we're living life like an iPhone constantly on low power mode, desperately needing to be charged.
I believe one reason many of us get stuck in these situations is because of societal pressures that promote money and status as the root of happiness, causing us to chase these instead of pursuing what we're passionate about.
The other huge reason I believe this happens is that many of us at our core don't fully love ourselves so we honestly don't believe we deserve better.
This lack of self-love can cause us to unconsciously make self-sabotaging decisions, keeping us stuck and never reaching our true potential.
Most of us never pursue our dreams because we think thoughts like:
"I am just not smart enough."
"No one cares what I have to say."
"I am not creative enough."
"I'm too old."
"I don't have time."
OUR OUTER ENVIRONMENT REFLECTS OUR INNER ENVIRONMENT!!!
So if this is how we're constantly speaking to ourselves then, of course, this is what we're going to believe and as a result what is going to appear in our lives.
If you don't believe that you're deserving of success or that you are able to accomplish your dreams then to be completely honest you never will.
IT STARTS WITH BELIEF FOLLOWED BY ACTION!
BELIEF WITHOUT ACTION IS JUST DAYDREAMING!
Action without believing in yourself will often just lead to the wrong actions being taken.
When we change the beliefs we hold about ourselves and our lives we begin to feel different emotions, that cause us to take different actions, and these actions produce different results.
Life's too short to constantly be in situations that aren't bringing us happiness and fulfillment!
This doesn't mean just go in today and quit your job or end that relationship right now, although this might be necessary for some circumstances.
What this means is to take the time and to really reflect and get to know yourself and what you actually want out of life, so that you can then develop the necessary beliefs and take the necessary actions to make your dreams your reality.
The best tools I have used for self-reflection that I highly recommend are daily meditation, visualizations, journaling, nature walks alone, reading, podcasts, exercise, and sauna.
These are all times where I can be by myself or at least have headphones in and be in my own world, where I'm focusing on myself and what I want.
I don't believe focusing on ourselves is in any way selfish because when we do focus on ourselves we fill ourselves up with energy and a love for life that allows us to best serve others and our community.
When we love ourselves it makes it so much easier to love others!
TODAY, I CHALLENGE YOU TO START TAKING ACTION BY DOING MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE AND LESS OF WHAT YOU HATE!!!
