WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ORGANISM WHEN THE LEVEL OF ESTROGEN IS TOO HIGH?

 

The balance of hormones is very important for woman’s health. Among all the hormones that are present in one’s organism, estrogen is the one with the leading role. This is a hormone that is linked with functions as menstrual cycle, breast growth, hair growth and reproductive system.

It is of great importance for the organism that the amount of estrogen is in normal range, because increased levels of this hormone are one of most common causes of malignant diseases.

The level of estrogen can be increased in puberty as well as during pregnancy. In any other cases higher levels of this hormone must be alarming.

The level of estrogen can increase as a result of bad nutritional habits, excess amounts of alcohol, diabetes, obesity, as well as use of various medications.

If you notice some of these symptoms talk to your doctor so that you can decide what to do next.

SIGNS YOUR ESTROGEN LEVEL IS TOO HIGH

Swollen and soft breasts

Breasts are extremely sensitive through menstrual cycle and during pregnancy, because they are affected by hormones. But soft and swollen breasts that are not result of one of these causes is a sign you need to go check the hormonal level in your organism.  

Mood swings

Hormones have big impact on one’s mental health. if you look at PMS symptoms you can see that increased estrogen levels can be common reason of depressive and anxious episodes women are going through. So if things look like your mood is not as it should be and there is not some serious reason for it then do hormones checkup.

Lumps

When the level of estrogen in the organism is dominant, small fibrocystic lumps can form in the breasts. They are condition that will require medical examination and treatment so don’t ignore them.

Hair loss

Hair loss is not exclusively linked to increased levels of estrogen. There are other causes as use of aggressive cosmetic treatments or season changes, but it can also indicate increased presence of estrogen in the organism.

Weight gain

If you have healthy nutritional habits, and are physically active and besides that you are gaining weight then do a checkup.  If the extra weight is deposits of fat on the stomach, thighs and back then it may be because the estrogen level is higher than it should be.  

 Irregular menstrual cycles

Even though some women suffer from irregular cycles, some have them pretty regularly. The alarm here is when the cycle is missing and it used to be so regular before. Hormones are directly responsible for the menstrual cycle and this will be a certain sign that there is misbalance, especially when the level of estrogen is in question.

Tiredness

Chronic tiredness is a symptom of many mental disorders as depression, as well as physiologic ones as anemia. It can also be a result of increased level of estrogen, and it usually happens because sleep deprivation and sleeping problems that this condition causes.
