We should all strive to be someone that we ourselves would look up to, someone that as a child we'd say, "Wow that's who I want to be like when I'm older".
Instead of just looking up to celebrities, professional athletes, successful entrepreneurs, musicians etc. try to become like those people by developing the same practices and habits that made those individuals successful.
These people weren't born as people we admire they became people we admire based on the decisions they made and the actions they took overtime on a consistent basis.
We tend to just focus on these individuals' current success without paying attention to all the hard work, discipline, and risks taken by these people to get where they are now.
We often idolize people that we see some of ourselves in and that's why the person inspires us so much because we know deep down that we could be like that person if we really gave it our all.
So really think about the people you look up to the most and ask yourself why you look up to that person and try to see if you see some of yourself in them.
For me personally, one of the people I look up to most is the Founder of Onnit Aubrey Marcus because I love his holistic health philosophy of Total Human Optimization and his overall outlook on life, which has helped to inspire me and give me guidance for how I want to live my life.
I get to see a shining example of what Total Human Optimization can be as Aubrey founded a multimillion dollar company, wrote a New York Times bestseller, hosts a podcast and despite all this continues to find new ways to challenge and improve himself physically, mentally, and spiritually.
This motivates me to continually try and optimize myself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to find out what I'm truly capable of and what the best version of me could contribute to the world.
I also see that through his continued growth, despite his success, that the journey of life and self-development is a never-ending process that needs to be embraced and enjoyed.
So when I see Aubrey he's giving me a glimpse into what my potential future might look like if I make the necessary changes and put the consistent hard work in to make it happen.
The key to being successful is modeling the mindset and actions of already successful people and then putting your unique spin on things to make your life unique to you.
We want to look up to and learn from successful people we admire but we never want to become them because we should only ever want to become the best versions of ourselves.
So once again think about the people you admire and then do something today that would help you get a little closer to where they're at!
