Why brain health is important and how you can maintain it

Posted by Bobby Brown on May 12, 2022 - 6:35pm

Your brain is a marvelous organ—and your brain health is your greatest resource for a healthy and active lifestyle! Your ability to breathe, communicate, and feed yourself with subconscious ease is the result of your high-functioning brain. Typical brain function does so much for us, we often only notice it when health problems begin to affect how we live our lives. Taking care of your brain’s well-being is just as important as taking care of your physical well-being. Here is why brain health should always stay “front of mind.”

Our brain health changes as we age

As we age, our brains change. Normal brain aging may mean slower processing speeds and more trouble with multitasking, but routine memory, knowledge, and skills are stable and may even improve with age. It’s normal to occasionally forget recent events, such as where you put your keys or the name of a person you’ve just met. According to the Institute for Neurosciences, we develop many thinking abilities that appear to peak around age 30 and, on average, very subtly decline with age.

These age-related declines most commonly include overall slowness in thinking and difficulties sustaining attention, multitasking, holding information, and word-finding. Age-related changes in brain structures such as decreased hippocampal, frontal, and temporal lobe volumes are common aspects of aging that contribute to these changes. However, with proper self-care, cognitive decline does not necessarily affect a person’s ability to carry out everyday tasks.

Lifestyle choices are key

According to experts, lifestyle has a profound impact on brain health. What you eat and drink, how much you exercise, how much you socialize, how well you sleep, and how you manage stress are all critically important to brain health. These physical risk factors have all been researched for their effect on cognitive decline:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Midlife obesity
  • Smoking
  • Depression
  • Low mental stimuli
  • Little or no physical exercise

Maintaining your brain

The combination of good nutrition, physical activity, adequate sleep, and mental and social engagement provide benefits in promoting brain health. Getting routine medical care, maintaining good cardiovascular health (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol levels), building social support networks, and doing activities that challenge you in ways you enjoy are all great ways to build brain function.

Give your brain a boost

REDOXMind gives your brain an extra nudge in five key areas of performance: focus, memory, clarity, sharper thinking, and overall brain health. A part of the new ASEA® Cell Performance category, you can enjoy the delicious berry taste of REDOXMind in your drink or shake wherever you are.

Getting everything completed on your to-do list can be a challenge, but you can stay focused on the task at hand when you have this handy drink mix. This safe, everyday addition to your routine can help supercharge your brain and support cell performance through improved cognitive function. This proprietary blend, featuring ingredients Powered by Redox™, helps your brain operate more efficiently and perform better by assisting the interaction between your brain’s nerve cells and supporting neurotransmitter function. Plus, improve your attention and shorten your response time for quick thinking.

We’ve used ingredients like Red Orange Complex for antioxidant support for learning and improved memory—specifically spatial and recognition memory. And we’ve used zinc and nootropic blends to help shorten response time and alleviate mental stress so you can stay focused and sharp and retrieve and relay information.
