Can being a teacher help you build a better business?

It took all the courage I had, but…

While rich dad was teaching, I interrupted him.

I stopped the lesson and asked, “Are you learning as you are teaching me?”

Rich dad chuckled, smiled, and said, “Of course. I’m not doing this just for you. I’m doing this for me. I learn something every time I teach. We may not be learning the same things but I am learning too.

“So, teaching me to be rich helps you become richer?” I asked.

“Let me let you in on a big secret.” he said grinning from ear to earn.

“What secret?” I asked.

“Teach what you want to learn,” rich dad said smiling.

“Teach what I want to learn?” I said softly. “That means if I want to be a better golfer, I should teach golf?”

“Yes,” nodded rich dad.

“But what if I am a lousy golfer?” I asked skeptically.

“Well, then you shouldn’t teach,” smiled rich dad.

“Look, you have to be honest and responsible to be a teacher. If you teach what you are not interested in or teach just to make money, then there is a lack of integrity.”

“So, if I am passionate about learning then I could be a good teacher, even if I do not know much about the subject…yet.

“The more I teach, the more I learn. The more I learn, the better teacher I become.”

“So, passion is important in teaching?” I asked.

“Absolutely,” said rich dad. “Passion to learn and a passion to help others. If you have those two traits you have the potential to be a great teacher.”

And if you have the potential to become a great teacher, then you have the potential to build a great business or become a great investor.

Once you have an idea you are passionate about, then the rest becomes much easier.

The second thing you need is your own rich dad to give you the training.
