Scriptures Referenced

Luke 5:33-39 New King James Version (NKJV)
33 Then they said to Him, “Why do[a] the disciples of John fast often
and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees,
but Yours eat and drink?”

34 And He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast
while the bridegroom is with them?

35 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away
from them; then they will fast in those days.”

36 Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment
on an old one;[b] otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken
out of the new does not match the old.

37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or
else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled,
and the wineskins will be ruined.

38 But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

39 And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new;
for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

Ephesians 4:22-24 New King James Version (NKJV)
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man
which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created
according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

2 Corinthians 5:17New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
17 So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation:
everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!

Colossians 3:9-10 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have stripped
off the old self with its practices
10 and have clothed yourselves with the new self,
which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its creator.

James 2:10 New King James Version (NKJV)
10 For whoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
