1. The BLOOD remits sins (Matt. 26:28).
Matthew 26:27-29 Amplified Bible (AMP)
27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you;
28 for this is My blood of the [new and better] covenant, which [ratifies the agreement and]
is being poured out for many [as a [b]substitutionary atonement]
for the forgiveness of sins.
29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine
from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
2. The BLOOD gives life to those who consume it (John 6:53).
John 6:52-54 Amplified Bible (AMP)
52 Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”
53 And Jesus said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless
you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you believe in Me
as Savior and believe in the saving power of My blood which will be shed for you],
you do not have life in yourselves.
54 The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior]
has eternal life [that is, now possesses it], and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.
3. The BLOOD causes us to dwell in Christ and He in us (John 6:56).
John 6:55-57 Amplified Bible (AMP)
55 For My flesh is true [spiritual] food, and My blood is true [spiritual] drink.
56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior]
remains in Me, and I [in the same way remain] in him.
57 Just as the living Father sent Me,
and I live because of the Father, even so the one who feeds on Me
[believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will also live because of Me.
4. The BLOOD is the means by which Jesus purchased the church (Acts 20:28).
Acts 20:27-29 Amplified Bible (AMP)
27 For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose and plan of God.
28 Take care and be on guard for yourselves and for the whole flock over which the Holy Spirit
has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd (tend, feed, guide) the church of God
which He bought with His own blood.
29 I know that after I am gone, [false teachers like]
ferocious wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
5. The BLOOD is the means by which Jesus becomes our atonement through faith (Rom. 3:25).
Romans 3:24-26 Amplified Bible (AMP)
24 and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God,
and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] [a]grace,
through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving]
[b]sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received]
through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin],
because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins
previously committed [before Jesus’ crucifixion].
26 It was to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so that
He would be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus [and rely confidently on Him as Savior].
