Affiliate marketing success or failure depends on you. You are perhaps a little more on you own compared with MLM where supposedly you have an up line to support and help you. You will find that you have to use similar marketing techniques and tools, build lists, create content, write blog posts, create videos and Ebooks.

You will need to learn your trade from books, videos and forums or find a mentor to guide you. You need to be a good communicator and have an interest in marketing and sales, because that is what is going to be taking up most of your time.

Certainly the higher commissions in Affiliate marketing are an attraction but you need to put in time and effort to achieve them. There is a high failure rate in all online business because most people don't like having to work to earn money. If you fail at affiliate marketing you have no one to blame but yourself.

To build a successful business you need to be passionate, enthusiastic and willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes. How many people here are still sticking with their New Year resolution? Those are the kind of people who will succeed in affiliate marketing.

Do not under estimate the time it takes to set a system up even if you take a short cut of a turn key system there is always some new marketing method that perhaps you have never used before. If you are looking to earn money working at home you can encounter additional time challenges and disruptions caused by family pressures.

You need to be organised and set up a plan, decide when and where you are going to work, that is probably the easy bit. Now if you have purchased a program I would suggest you read through it all once, making notes on a things to do list. In my last house I had the luxury of having an office space upstairs where I had room for a large white board, which I used to list my things to do, together with other notes. I also have an online organiser Simpleology which is also very useful and can help you keep focused on your goals.

Whatever method you use you now need to prioritise your tasks and fit them in your work schedule, its a matter of following your plan and uploading or connecting to new marketing resources. Do not make the mistake of taking on to much work at once, otherwise you will be chasing your tail and not be productive.

Once everything is ready you can set up a new routine promoting your product. It does take sometime to start producing sales and this is when doubt can creep in, but remember Rome was not built in a day and if your business is build on firm foundations it will last for a long time.
