Home Automation Systems are taking the world by storm. Approximately one home in a hundred has a smart home already and many more will start, as they begin to keep up with friends and family. 

This industry is slow because the main players are the large communications companies and the security companies. These players are working from the old outdated security model where you pay for everything and the focus is on money and not customer satisfaction. 

What Are Home Automation Systems? 

They are systems that allow you to run your home from a remote device such as a smart phone or tablet. You are able to perform functions that you could do when at home, from a distant location. For example:

• if you want to monitor your family while away you can.
• If you want to check on your home when on vacation you can.
• If you want to make sure you turned the lights off or closed the garage door you can. 

Being able to control everything in your home as if you were there is a huge hurdle in technology. It's the Jetson's meeting the 21 Century. [If you remember the Jetsons, some will not.]

Customer Centricity

When a company focuses on the customer and their happiness the money will happen, but if a company focuses on the money first then the customer will sense it and vote with their pocketbook. They leave for a better company!

The home automation industry has systems that they provide, but the customer will pay every step of the way. With the current systems that are in the marketplace the consumer will pay for add-on's as technology advances. When looking for a home automation system you will want to make sure that as you add new products to your system will you be charged for the new products that you add. 

With the old model the companies will send a technician to the home and charge for adding the new technology to the system. Although their are some companies who don't charge to add new devices to their systems, they are hard to find. 

One of the newer companies that allows you to add new products without increasing cost is JAQX Smart Home and Business Automation w/Security.  This company is of the new breed of Home Automation where their systems are upgradeable to new technology as it comes out. They don't care if you buy the products from them, or anywhere else in the marketplace, the new products simply plug into their hub and you are good to go.
