This is what we have worked on this winter while being in our home during Covid 19. We take the shopping bags that you get in the store and make a sleeping mat for the persosn who does not have a home or shelter where they can rest or sleep. The mat also protects them from the weather and keeps them warm and dry.
These Twenty sleeping mats, that were crocheted by me since mid January, were picked up to go to the Quad Cities/Rock Island Project Now Friday. Will start on more as soon as I get about a dozen shopping totes done to put a Prayer shawl in, that I crocheted this winter also, and these are all for the Freeport church Mission project. We are very thankful for these projects to work on as these are how we keep busy and also relax and reduce stress.

This is our way of taking these bags and keeping them out of the landfills and yet making a product that is helping a needy or homeless person have something that they can keep and take with them. They are all machine washable but must be air dryed.
