Breez Wallet Shows Offline Lightning Network Payments Solution
Breez Wallet, a Lightning Network (LN) focused wallet, has shown an implementation that allows users to receive LN payments without being online. The service, which will be included in an upcoming non-custodial wallet app, leverages the wallets’ own SDK using mobile notifications to receive this payment without requiring involvement from the recipient.
Breez, a Lightning Network (LN) focused wallet, has shown its solution to tackle the problem of offline payments in the protocol. Due to its inner workings, both parties in a transaction need to be online when an LN payment happens, making its use cumbersome for some applications.
However, Breez has used its software stack to engineer a solution that allows these payments to go through even with the receiving party being offline. The organization showed this solution in a post on X, where an unnamed upcoming non-custodial wallet by Breez receives an LN payment being offline using notifications. Read More
‘Be careful’ when adding AI to blockchains, Vitalik Buterin warns devs
Ethereum’s co-founder warned it’s “worth treading carefully” when fusing AI and blockchain technology together.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has warned developers to “be careful” when fusing artificial intelligence (AI) with blockchain technology.
In a Jan. 30 blog post, Buterin categorized his most pressing concerns with AI, telling developers that it’s “worth treading carefully,” especially when deploying novel applications in high-value and high-risk contexts.
“It is important to be careful: if someone builds e.g. a prediction market or a stablecoin that uses an AI oracle, and it turns out that the oracle is attackable, that's a huge amount of money that could disappear in an instant.”
Buterin explained that one area where AI has the highest viability is allowing AI to participate in mechanisms like prediction markets at a micro-scale that would be unfeasible for humans. Read More
Proto-Danksharding Ahoy! Ethereum Upgrade Clears Another Hurdle
Dencun successfully passed tests on Sepolia, further clearing the way toward cheaper, faster layer-2 transactions.
A highly anticipated upgrade to the Ethereum network, called Dencun, crossed a major hurdle, becoming active on the Sepolia testnet on Tuesday. The development follows activation on the Goerli testnet earlier this month.
Dencun introduces "proto-danksharding" to the number one proof-of-stake blockchain. Proto-danksharding is designed to reduce transaction costs for layer-2 blockchains, making data availability cheaper while also addressing scalability issues. This latest upgrade lays the groundwork for full “danksharding,” which takes cost reductions and performance gains even further.
Dencun, after full implementation, will allow the Ethereum network to more cheaply handle more than 100,000 transactions per second. Read More
We have a lot to be grateful for within Markethive. It’s like stepping out of the rat race into an oasis of humanity at its best. As an inbound marketing, business-based blockchain platform with an inherent entrepreneurial spirit, we have all the tools to get our message out to the whole world. We have a social media interface with a collaborative ethos rarely experienced on legacy social media.
We are starting to see new integrations in the blogging section in preparation for the customized, more intuitive interface and dashboard of Markethive and, of course, the Markethive Wallet that will facilitate the Merchant accounts for members as well as personal transactions, the Vault, etc.
The new-look Blogcasting Hub is located at the top of all blogs in the system. Blogcasting is a term introduced by Markethive and is an enhanced broadcasting system. In the traditional broadcasting sense, only the people who physically subscribe to your blog or newsletter are usually notified of your updates via email.
With this blogcasting system, your social networks are informed of your blog as and when you publish them. What this means is the potential reach is into the millions. Read More

Ethereum closes in on Dencun mainnet following Sepolia activation
The Dencun upgrade was activated on the second of three Ethereum testnets as proto-danksharding inches closer to the mainnet.
The gradual roll-out of the Dencun upgrade continues within the Ethereum ecosystem — this time with no hiccups — as the multiple Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) upgrade is activated on the Sepolia testnet.
As Cointelegraph previously reported, the Dencun network upgrade was activated on the Goerli testnet on Jan. 17, introducing several EIPs, including EIP-4844, which enables proto-danksharding, a highly anticipated improvement touted to reduce layer-2 transaction fees.
Unlike the activation of Dencun on Goerli, which suffered a four-hour delay caused by a bug that prevented the testnet from finalizing the upgrade, Sepolia’s upgrade was carried out without incident on Jan. 30, as highlighted by Ethereum educator Anthony Sassano: Read More
