Coin Bureau - US Stablecoin Law Sparks Global CBDC and Crypto Shift 🧐

"Recently, the US passed sweeping stablecoin regulations, setting the stage for dozens—maybe even hundreds—of digital dollars to flood the world. Now, central banks and governments everywhere are scrambling to respond.

Some are pushing forward new stablecoin legislation, while others are considering launching their CBDCs on public chains. That’s why today, we’re breaking down exactly how the rest of the world is reacting to the US’s stablecoin play and whether it’s ultimately bullish or bearish for crypto.

The video discusses the global response to the U.S. Genius Act, a stablecoin law passed in July 2025. This law has prompted a re-evaluation of digital currency strategies among central banks and governments worldwide. For example, the European Central Bank, which had been planning a private Digital Euro, is now considering a shift to a public blockchain like Ethereum or Solana to defend the Euro's sovereignty against the dominance of U.S. dollar-backed stablecoins. Similarly, countries in Asia are taking action. China is reportedly considering a yuan-backed stablecoin to challenge the U.S. dollar, while Japan is set to approve its first yen-pegged stablecoin. South Korea's largest banks are also collaborating to launch a won stablecoin.

The U.S. stablecoin law creates a clear regulatory framework that allows private entities like banks to issue stablecoins backed one-to-one with cash or treasuries, but it also raises concerns about privacy. While many countries are advancing with their own digital currency projects or regulations, others are scaling back their plans due to a lack of public interest. The video concludes that the U.S. law has accelerated global interest in digital assets and has integrated public blockchains into high-level government discussions, but it also raises concerns about privacy and control as surveillance capabilities are transferred to private corporations.
