The 8 Side Hustles That Made Me Millions in 2022

Posted by anthony hambrick on July 19, 2022 - 6:22pm

Every year, millions of people make money on the side. And why shouldn’t they? In fact, it’s a smart way to diversify your income and protect yourself against the whims of your workplace.

1. Starting a Small Business

Starting your own small business can be the best way to make money in the long run.

You have complete control over your time, which is great if you’re looking for a part-time gig or want to make some extra cash while still keeping your day job.

Small businesses also don’t require much capital upfront, so you can get started with as little as $100 or less for things like domain registration and hosting.

If you’re interested in building up an online shop or selling products from home (like candles or jewelry), there are plenty of resources available to help you get started on Shopify or Etsy.

There are also plenty of other platforms out there that allow users to create their own website using their personal brand and content management system — all without having any technical knowledge!

2. Becoming a Consultant and Learning the Business of Blogging

If you’re looking for a side hustle that’s easy to start, consulting is ideal. Consulting is something that happens more frequently than you may think — and it’s a great way to make money when you’re starting out. What exactly does “consulting” mean?

It can be anything from advising clients on how to set up their business website or application process, helping them figure out the best way to market their product or service, or even strategic planning for your own company.

Consultants come in all shapes and sizes: some charge per hour while others charge by the project; some offer packages while others only take on individual projects; they can specialize in different areas (such as marketing) or offer services across many fields (such as web development).

Consulting isn’t just limited to professionals with years of experience under their belt — you too can become a consultant!

Blogging has become one of the biggest industries online today thanks largely due its accessibility level: anyone with an internet connection can start blogging right now without needing any prior knowledge on how websites work or what fonts should look like on screen.

3. Creating and Selling Online Courses

Online courses can be defined as any form of education that is made available for consumption on the internet. This may include e-books and other written materials, video-based tutorials, audio recordings, live webinars, or even offline events.

The main benefit of creating an online course is that it allows you to teach your skills to students all across the globe (assuming your niche has a global appeal). The second biggest benefit is that they allow you to sell your products while providing valuable content and instruction at the same time!

When it comes to selling these types of products there are many different tactics and strategies you can use.

When creating my own courses I used several different approaches:

  • Selling directly through my website (this was before Udemy came into existence)
  • Selling through other platforms like Udemy or Skillshare
  • Using Facebook ads

4. Building an App

An app is a computer program that you install on your smartphone or tablet to perform specific tasks.

Apps are very similar to websites, in that they can be used to run an online business and make money from ads, but they offer additional functionality beyond the website.

For example, if you have an app on your phone or tablet called “Facebook” and another called “Instagram”, then these two apps serve similar functions as their respective websites.

However, since there are no ads on Instagram videos (a limitation of the platform), it’s not ideal for making money from ad revenue alone — but with a mobile-optimized website built alongside Instagram, you could earn even more than with just one platform alone!

What else might you use an app for? Anything! Any time someone needs something done at their fingertips wherever they go (which is everywhere), there’s probably an app out there already that does exactly what they need to be done…and chances are good that it’s well-designed too!

5. Buying and Selling Websites/Blogs

The first step in buying a website is to find websites that are worth buying. There are a lot of websites out there, and most of them aren’t worth anything. In fact, most people have a hard time even monetizing their own sites! So how do you figure out if someone else’s site is profitable?

The answer lies in the following equation:

(Value of Website) = (value of traffic) x (cost per click) x conversion rate x optimization ratio

This equation can be applied to any website or blog, but it will vary depending on what type of site we’re talking about.

For example, if I were evaluating my travel blog as an investment opportunity then I would only look at two variables: traffic and cost per click (CPC).

Since my site gets millions of visitors every month at very low costs per click ($0-$1), then I know that it’s worth hundreds of thousands or even millions.

6. Freelancing: Graphic Design, Content Writing, and Translation

I love to make things look pretty. I used to create designs on my own and then sell them on Etsy in 2010. It gave me a lot of satisfaction to make money doing something I loved.

However, it wasn’t until 2014 when I received my first freelance project from a local business owner who wanted a logo designed for her company that I was introduced to the world of freelancing full time (and loving every minute!).

If you love graphic design or photography, this might be an amazing side hustle for you!

You can start out small by offering your services for free as samples; then move up from there by charging clients based on project size and difficulty level (e.g., $10 per hour). It helps if your services are needed in high demand; so consider offering discounts or package deals if possible.

Don’t forget about networking through social media sites like Facebook groups or LinkedIn groups where other professionals may post their jobs so they can get help with various projects — this will give them more options besides hiring someone locally at higher prices!

7. Making Money Blogging with Affiliate Links

Affiliate marketing is also a great side hustle for people who are looking for ways to make money blogging.

It’s a win-win situation: Affiliate marketers get paid commissions from companies when they refer their readers to those companies, and bloggers generate more traffic and make more money from the affiliate links they share.

The first step in becoming an affiliate marketer is finding an affiliate program that suits you.

Most companies offer affiliate programs with standard terms, but some may require additional paperwork or vetting before you can join their program. After finding a program that fits your needs, it’s time to start writing links!

Writing good affiliate links starts with understanding why readers click on them at all — and then figuring out how you can entice them further with great writing skills and salesmanship (i.e., being convincing).

Once you’ve created well-written content that includes compelling calls-to-action (CTAs), it’s time to track their performance so that if one type of CTA underperforms another type of CTA in terms of conversions (i.e., purchases), then it makes sense for us as marketers not only because conversions are critical metrics within digital marketing but also because they impact our bottom lines significantly too!

When we’re talking about tracking these CTAs at scale without having thousands of dollars invested into software tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics Suite like Adobe Tag Manager which allows us to access directly inside WordPress CMS system without having any coding knowledge whatsoever!

8. Creating and Managing PPC Campaigns for Small Businesses

Setting up a Google AdWords PPC account is an easy task for anyone with basic knowledge of the Internet and its intricacies. Once you have your paid search account set up, you are ready to learn how to manage it.

Google AdWords can be used by businesses of all sizes; however, it is important that you know what kind of business you are working with before beginning any PPC campaign strategy.

Businesses with higher budgets will usually want more detailed account setup and management while smaller businesses may be happy with setting up their own accounts manually or outsourcing the work altogether.

What do I mean by “outsource”? Although this isn’t necessary for most small businesses, some people don’t want to deal with managing their own AdWords accounts but would rather let someone else handle everything for them so they can focus on other tasks at hand — such as managing their own campaigns on Facebook or Twitter!

There are many benefits associated with outsourcing these tasks (like saving time), but there are also drawbacks worth considering before making this decision too hastily!

For example: if your company decides not to hire someone else who specializes in search engine optimization (SEO) services such as myself…then make sure they have enough technical knowledge about how each platform works individually first before starting anything new because otherwise, things could get messy fast!
