This is going to be long but interesting.
More over, you will be the first few to learn about the changing dynamics of internet. By now, you might have heard of Bitcoin and Blockchain, and why not, CoinSutra has covered about "What is Bitcoin" back in 2016, and if you have read and acted on it, you might have made a fortune.

Namebase:
I will give credits to my friend Aishwin Vikhona for letting me know about Namebase domains. I was hanging out at a Clubhouse room, when Aishwin introduced me to Handshake foundations, and told me how I could buy something like .shoutmeloud domain extension.
Yes, you are not imagining, instead of buying something like .com, you can actually buy any custom domain name extension. Just to re-iterate myself, this is experimental and more like betting on future, but it open a great oppurtunity for anyone who is forward looking to explore these new sphere of domain name industry.
However there is one caveat, you need HNS token ( Handshake (HNS) token . current price: $0.307208 according to https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/handshake) to purchase domains from Namebase which is available on MXC exchange, and it would not be simple for everyone to get it. However, for those who understand how the world of blockchain works, they might see a lot of value in grabbing these custom domain name extesions. They are partnering with OpenDNS for domain name resolving, and I believe it's a great adoption.

What do I feel about Web 3.0 domain names:
Well I think we are at the tipping point of new world of decentralization, and this is an exciting time to learn and adapt the new technologies. A lot of new development is happening in the world of decentralization, such as decentralized storage, decentralized domain names, Decentralized lending/borrowing to name a few.
These new domain name extensions open a lot of new door for innovation, and it is like a completely new internet. However, it may take 3-5 years before we see a wider adoption, and right now they are growing based on speculation and future promises. Though I strongly feel, if this thing becomes bigger, it would be indexed by Google search, and that could possibly write the new chapter of internet.
If you keep an open mind, and if you could learn fast, this world of decentralization/blockchain could change your life.
