Dissolve your Limiting Beliefs to Manifest Everything You Desire

Dissolve your Limiting Beliefs to Manifest Everything You Desire

So, let’s start with – what are beliefs?

A belief is an idea or assumption that a person holds as being true. They are contextual: They arise from learned experiences, resulting from the cultural and environmental situations we have faced. They determine what we do, how we do it, and how we see our accomplishments in relation to the rest of the world.

And what are limiting beliefs?

Limiting beliefs are the thoughts that prevent you from manifesting your greatest desires. They are what are causing you, to fail at Law of Attraction.

They can prevent you from creating what you desire. Sometimes we are aware of them, but most times they are under the surface and are invisible to an un-awakened mind. But the bad news is that even if they are invisible, they still have the power to affect your life.

For example, if you believe that to earn money you need to work very hard, you might see yourself putting in crazy hours to earn every dime you make and feel guilty when you don’t work hard.

Or if you have a limiting belief that you are always going to be abandoned, you will unknowingly avoid relationships or even worse, self-sabotage even if you attract a great relationship as it clashes against your deep belief about love.

Where do limiting beliefs come from?

Behavior and Beliefs. A new lens for looking at team… | by Kevan Lee | Buffer Stories

Limiting beliefs mainly come from our childhood….probably from something you have heard or even an actual experience that you observed from a child’s perspective.

No matter what the truth might be, your subconscious mind tends to create a false belief. It makes you give meaning to an event, that meaning is what hurts or affects you later in your life. Your mind then prevents you from taking actions that would help you achieve your goals. It doesn’t matter if it is reasonable or makes actual sense, you still will have these beliefs blocking you.

Knowing what your limiting beliefs are, is unfortunately not enough, it is a great first step but to dissolve them completely needs a bit more effort,

How do you remove limiting beliefs?

Step 1: Write the limiting belief down. Play detective and follow your thoughts and emotions to discover the limiting beliefs that hold you back. Put them on paper and stare them in the face! You might note how strong each belief is and what emotions they elicit in you.

Step 2: Acknowledge that these are beliefs, not truths! This is often the hardest step. “But, but, my limitations are real!” Here’s the place where choice comes in. What are you more interested in: defending your limitations to the death or achieving your goals and desires? As author Evelyn Waugh wrote, “When we argue for our limitations, we get to keep them.” You choose.

Step 3: Try on a different belief. Use your imagination and try on a belief that is aligned with what you want. It might be something like, “My financial difficulties in the past have taught me so much that I’m fully prepared to handle them now!” Or, “Now that I’ve been in an unhealthy relationship I’ve learned what to look for in a happy, loving partner!”

The trick is to go beyond just saying it. You want to really step into this new belief and feel how it feels. Done thoroughly, Steps 2 and 3 will go a long way to dismantling your old limiting decision.

Step 4: Take different action. This might feel scary but act as if your new belief is true. In other words, if you really are the kind of man /woman people adore, how would you act next time you are out? Who might you approach or reach out to? Or if you really are capable and have learned a tremendous amount from past financial difficulties, what steps would you take?  If you really are the kind of person who eats healthy food, what will you put in your grocery cart?

If you avoid taking any steps based on your new belief, you will just feed your old limiting belief. Taking action, even the smallest step, will help solidify your new un-limiting decision. Your first steps don’t have to be perfect, just headed in the right direction. And be sure to acknowledge yourself when you’ve taken that step.

Retraining your mind in this manner can be challenging because it is in direct opposition to the blocks your mind has created. You will need to take action multiple times to break through your blocks, but it does get easier.

When you dissolve limiting beliefs, you can accomplish anything in all areas of your life. So take the time to get rid of yours today and manifest all your desires.

Let me give you an example of my own life. I was an overweight, unhealthy teenager who was terrible at sports so I would keep telling myself that ‘I have terrible hand-eye coordination and I am extremely clumsy’. But as I grew older and knew that this belief was limiting me, I started affirming – I have phenomenal hand-eye coordination, I am careful, I am excellent at whatever I choose to do, etc. Moreover, I started taking action towards this. For example, I started learning boxing, being more careful, and embodying someone who I desired to be.

Always remember your personality is nothing but your personal reality so if you want to change your current situation, work on editing the beliefs behind it
