Chinesische Technik ist ein Sicherheitsrisiko

Chinesische Technik ist ein Sicherheitsrisiko

The country uses its technology to monitor people and suppress minorities. Germany should avoid using Huawei technology when building the 5G mobile network.
The decision as to whether the Chinese group Huawei is one of the big losers in the finally passionate debate about the expansion of the German 5G mobile network has not yet been made. But one loser is already certain: it is Chancellor Angela Merkel. Your attempt to keep the discussion down, to degrade it to a technical question, has failed. In March Merkel said that she did not believe in publicly discussing sensitive security issues.

Even large parts of her CDU do not want to follow her on this course, just like the coalition partner SPD or the Federal Foreign Office. Even their secret services are now raising concerns about Huawei, which the Chancellor's Office has known since 2011, before the parliament. The coalition of resistance grows every day. It is now clear that the Bundestag and not just the government will decide who can build the network of the future. That is good, the debate is long overdue.

M H I agree it is a risk, Otto, thanks for this blog
