Mattersburg - Shortly before the closure of the Mattersburger Commerzialbank, which was shaken by a balance sheet scandal, the Burgenland Regional Management (RMB) is said to have cleared deposited money. According to a "courier" report (Monday edition), it is about 1.2 million euros. The Greens put in the room on Sunday evening that there might have been a tip from the bank and announced inquiries to the state government.

According to the media report, the money was withdrawn on July 14 shortly after 9:30 p.m. Only two and a half hours later the financial market regulator had the bank blocked, which meant that no account movements were possible. According to the "Kurier", the withdrawal of around 1.2 million euros of the 2.5 million euros that the RMB, a subsidiary of the country, had deposited with the Mattersburger Commerzialbank that night was the "most conspicuous money transfer".

Departure of Provincial Councilor Illedits
According to the media report, Regional Councilor Christian Illedits (SPÖ), who resigned on Saturday, was involved in the RMB. The connection exists due to Illedits' chairmanship at LAG Nordburgenland plus, an association made up of 69 municipalities and their partners, which, in its own words, promotes regional development in Northern Burgenland.

Exactly this connection called the Burgenland Greens on the scene on Sunday evening. "Did the now resigned Economic Councilor know that one million euros had been withdrawn from the Commerzialbank?", Asked Regina Petrik in a broadcast. Another question that arises is whether it is common "for such large sums to be withdrawn from the RMB in the middle of the night," Petrik was quoted as saying. (APA, 2.8.2020)
