The British-American relationship should actually become closer after the Brexit. But Boris Johnson takes on three fronts with the American President Trump - and stays in line with Berlin and Paris.
One of the ironies of the British farewell to the EU is this: the closer Brexit comes, the more the government leans towards the major European capitals on strategic issues. This brings them more and more into conflict with the United States, to which the relationship should actually become closer through Brexit.
