After five days in the Australian wilderness, the police have found a missing student. Yang Chen, 26, disappeared last Wednesday while hiking at a waterfall in Tallebudgera near the city of Gold Coast in the state of Queensland. After heavy rains and floods, she was rescued on Monday.

"We found her alive," said a police spokeswoman. The search for the young woman had been interrupted because of the rain. According to media reports, police divers also participated in the search on Monday.

The woman studying in Gold Coast was found near the waterfall where her companion had lost sight of her on Wednesday.

"Surprisingly good mood"
The woman was taken to a hospital, but is apparently well. She looked like she was going through a pretty nice trauma, said medic Berk Berkitz. But she was "surprisingly in a good mood".
