Equipment features can be booked retrospectively, such as apps for mobile phones - Functions on Demand is the magic word here.
The extras get into the car without visiting the workshop
"The topic is not new," admits Jan Burgard from strategy consultant Berylls. "But with more and more software functions in the car and the possibility of being able to update or activate them over the air without visiting a workshop, it is slowly becoming the focus of sales strategists."
It's not just about functions such as navigation or smartphone integration. "Functions on Demand can also pay off with hardware options," says Burgard.
