Oil cheaper, gold more expensive

The growing tensions between the United States and China depressed oil prices. Most recently, a barrel (159 liters) of the North Sea Brent cost $ 34.79. That was 50 cents less than on Thursday. The price of a barrel of the US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 15 cents to $ 33.55 in the face of oil. In recent weeks, oil prices have recovered from their slump at the start of the corona crisis. Because with the removal of corona restrictions in many countries, demand could pick up again. The gold price rose again at the end of the month. The metal used as the anti-crisis currency rose by 0.9 percent to $ 1,734 per troy ounce.
