
Over 150 dead again in one day in Germany
The total number rose to 899 dead.
Berlin - Since Tuesday evening, there have been over 150 deaths within 24 hours in Germany due to the novel corona virus. According to research by the dts news agency, 155 people died as a result of the virus by 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, the total number rising by 21 percent to 899.
In total there were around 77,500 positive tests by Wednesday evening, but according to an extrapolation, around 21,000 people had already recovered. The number of active infections with detection rose to around 55,600 in Germany, an increase of around 5.6 percent compared to the previous day.
According to the available figures, the highest density among the federal states was in Baden Württemberg, where 146 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were detected by Wednesday. Behind it were Bavaria (142), Hamburg (132) and Saarland (108).
As in the past few days, the lowest incidence was recorded in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where 28 infections per 100,000 inhabitants have so far been detected. In Saxony-Anhalt (37), Brandenburg (43) and Thuringia (43), the number of infections was below the national average.
The numbers differ from those of the Robert Koch Institute, as the latter does not ask the local authorities, but waits for the electronic report, which often takes a few days.
