
Over a million corona records worldwide
Berlin - There have been over a million detected infections with the corona virus worldwide since Thursday. This comes from data from Johns Hopkins University, which collects figures from media providers from many countries. The number has doubled within a week. To date, 51,485 people have been killed worldwide by the virus infection.
In Germany, 84,637 people in Germany tested positive for the corona virus by Thursday evening, according to research by the dts news agency and a query from the state ministries, cities and counties. That corresponds to 102 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants. At least 1,102 people died from the infection.
According to the available figures, the highest density among the federal states was in Baden Württemberg, where 159 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were detected by Thursday. Behind it were Bavaria (158), Hamburg (139) and Saarland (126).
The lowest incidence was recorded in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where only 29 infections per 100,000 inhabitants have so far been detected. In Saxony-Anhalt (39), Thuringia (47) and Brandenburg (48), the number of infections was below the national average.
