Shanghai: Firmen sollen bis 9. Februar geschlossen bleiben

Due to the spread of the new lung disease, the city of Shanghai has asked companies to remain closed beyond the current Chinese New Year holidays. Companies should only start work again after February 9, the authorities said on Monday.

This excludes companies that ensure urban operations, such as water or electricity. This also excludes food producers, supermarkets and other companies that are important for people's existential needs. Schools and kindergartens in Shanghai are scheduled to remain closed until February 17.

The Chinese government had previously announced that the nationwide holiday would be extended by three days through the current New Year celebrations up to and including Sunday. The virus has now appeared in almost every province or region in the country
