Trump threatens EU with car tariffsVideo: Reuters

After the trade conflict with China was temporarily calmed down, the American president reminded of the open bill with Europe. In Davos, he asks his interlocutors to be open to a “deal”.
US President Donald Trump has threatened Europeans "very high tariffs" on cars and other goods in the event that no new trade agreement between the United States and the European Union is reached. Speaking to the American news channel CNBC on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump said he continued to expect an agreement.

"They'll make a deal because they have to," said Trump, referring to the European Union. European exports to the United States were significantly larger than American exports to the EU. Trump had a meeting with the EU Commission President in Davos the evening before Met Ursula von der Leyen.

The US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin also used carrot and stick in a panel discussion in Davos with a view to Great Britain, which will levy a tax on digital revenues from social media platforms, search engines and online marketplaces in April, provided the companies' sales exceed 500 Million pounds a year. The tax rate is 2 percent; Last but not least, American corporations would be affected.
